A 24-year old man was driving intoxicated with two passengers in his vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol, he was driving at high speeds on a California highway transition road and attempted to pass a semi-truck in the right shoulder.

Due to his intoxicated state and the speed at which he was traveling, he lost control of the vehicle and it spun out of control. The impact killed one of the passengers, a 23-year old Diamond Bar woman, and injured another passenger, a 22-year old Anaheim woman.
