| 677 Million Dollar Verdict in Nursing Home Abuse Case |

A verdict of 677 million dollars was awarded to the 32,000 plaintiffs (victims, and families of the victims) of a large-scale nursing home abuse trial. According to reports, 22 nursing homes across California, owned by Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. were involved in the trial for their “poor patient care”. A California court has pronounced that Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. is responsible for the understaffed conditions that caused almost all of their patients to be neglected. The state requires mandatory staffing levels, and Skilled Healthcare failed to meet those demands.
